No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Insurance Code to allow for the disclosure of certain public information collected by the Texas Department of Insurance.  Information collected by the department under this subchapter is public information that is not confidential and is subject to disclosure under Chapter 552, Government Code.

Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Insurance, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.  The bill would prohibit the disclosure of certain public information collected by the Texas Department of Insurance.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.
