HB186 by Van Arsdale (Relating to severance payments to superintendents of independent school districts.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 11.201(c) of the Education Code to prohibit a school district board of trustees from making severance payments to a superintendent, unless the payment is approved by the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.
 
The bill would take effect immediately upon enactment with the necessary voting margins or September 1, 2005 and would apply only to severance payments made on or after that date.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
