No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Alcoholic Beverage Code to require persons who submit applications for original or renewal wine and beer retailer's permits for premises located in residential areas to provide additional notifications by mail to 1) all tenants and owners of real property located less than 300 feet from any point on the property line of the premise, as measured in a straight line; 2) the sheriff of that county; 3) the chief of police, mayor, and members of the governing body; and 4) the state senator and state representative representing that district.  These persons would also, under the provisions of the bill, be entitled to notifications concerning hearings for original or renewal applications for beer and wine retailer's permits.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. There may be some costs for postage and other mailing requirements associated with notification, but these costs are not expected to be significant.
