LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 11, 2005

TO:
Honorable David Swinford, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB358 by Rodriguez (Relating to information about certain agencies providing assistance relating to pregnancy.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill relates to information about certain agencies providing assistance relating to pregnancy. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds majority vote in both houses of the Legislature. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2005.

The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) indicates that the current resource directory would need to be updated to comply with the provisions of the bills. It is assumed that any costs DSHS would incur in implementing the bill's provisions would be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
