IN RE:
HB378 by Talton (Relating to an exemption from the fee for a birth or death record requested by a child fatality review team or the child fatality review team committee. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the state registrar to issue a non-certified copy of a birth or death record to a child fatality review team or the state child fatality review team committee without charging a fee. It is assumed that the increased requests to the state registrar could be absorbed within current resources of the Department of State Health Services.
Local Government Impact
Local registrars could experience a decrease in revenue as well as a decrease in requests from child fatality review teams, as the bill would only exempt requests made to the state registrar.
