FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB402 by Villarreal (Relating to the punishment for the offense of prohibited sexual conduct.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Penal Code to increase the penalty for prohibited sexual conduct from a felony of the third degree to a felony of the second degree. The bill would take effect September 1, 2005. Because the bill is not expected to substantially add to the inmate population, no significant fiscal impact to the State is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
