No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Family Code to provide for mandatory paternity tests in suits where child support orders are sought before the man can be ordered to pay child support. The bill provides that parties, other than governmental entity, shall bear the cost of genetic testing.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. There may be increased demand on court dockets.
