No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code by requiring metropolitan planning organization policy board members to file a financial statement with the Texas Ethics Commission. Failure to file a required statement would be classified as a Class B misdemeanor. The bill would take effect September 1, 2005 and would apply beginning January 1, 2007.

The Texas Ethics Commission reports that administrative duties associated with the provisions of the bill can be absorbed using existing resources.
