No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Texas Department of Transportation to erect and maintain official traffic control devices necessary to restrict the use of the far left lane of certain state highways by vehicles with a total of eighteen wheels or more. It is assumed the costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.

The bill would take effect on September 1, 2005.
