LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 4, 2005

TO:
Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB571 by Hegar (Relating to the establishment of auxiliary county facilities in the unincorporated area of a county.), As Engrossed

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authorize a commissioners court to purchase, construct, reconstruct, improve, equip, or provide for by other means, including by lease or lease with an option to purchase, a branch office in the unincorporated area of the county. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives the required two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2005.

Local Government Impact

It is presumed that a county commissioners court would establish auxiliary county facilities only if sufficient resources were available; therefore, no significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
