No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require that regional planning groups include in a regional plan submitted to the Texas Water Development Board information on major water infrastructure faciliteis that may be used for interconnnections in the event of an emergency shortage of water. However, this information would be exempt from disclosure laws under the public information law in Government Code, Chapter 552.

Any technical assistance the Water Development Board would provide to regional planning groups is expcted to be absorbed within the agency's existing budget.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. Any costs to regional planning groups in identifying interconnection locations is not expected to be significant.
