Honorable Craig Eiland, Chair, House Committee on Pensions & Investments
FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB617 by McCall (Relating to contributions of certain members of the Judicial Retirement System of Texas Plan Two.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would allow a Judicial Retirement Plan II (JRS II) judge to stop making contributions when the member has served at least two full terms on an appellate court and reached a "rule of 70." The JRS II actuary projected a slightly decreased revenue stream to JRS II over the years which would not be significant.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
