LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 7, 2005

TO:
Honorable Harvey Hilderbran, Chair, House Committee on Culture, Recreation, & Tourism

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB632 by Smith, Wayne (Relating to the historical advisory board of the San Jacinto Battleground. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 22 of the Parks and Wildlife Code to rename and reorganize the advisory board for the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Park.  The bill would add two members to the advisory board, add state legislators whose districts include the battleground as non-voting ex-officio members, and provide that board members serve without compensation and are not entitled to reimbursement for expenses incurred in the performance of official board duties.  The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department may incur minimal additional expenses in the preparation of meeting materials for added board members.  However, the fiscal implication for the additional expenses is not anticipated to be significant.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
