No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 481.121 of the Health and Safety Code to create an affirmative defense to prosecution for possession of marihuana if the person possessed the marihuana as a patient of a doctor who recommended it for medical purposes.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
