This bill proposes to lift the prohibition in statute against the issuance of permits for structures within 1,000 feet of a wildlife sanctuary, nature preserve, or privately owned shore property by the School Land Board. The School Land Board, operating through the General Land Office (GLO), manages public lands dedicated to the Permanent School Fund and collects fees for cabin permits. The agency anticipates issuing 67 additional cabin permits per fiscal year for a total of $24,300 in new revenue per fiscal year.
