IN RE:	HB747 by McReynolds (Relating to the designation of the El Camino East/West Corridor.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to design, construct, and erect markers designating the portion of SH 7, SH21, SH103, US 290, and IH 10 that follow the route of the El Camino Real de los Tejas from Pendleton to El Paso as the El Camino East/West Corridor.  The bill would also require the El Camino East/West Commission to reimburse TxDOT for the cost to install the signs.  Based on the analysis of TxDOT, the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be carried out using existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in each house.  If the bill does not receive a two-thirds majority vote in each house, the bill would take effect September 1, 2005.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
