LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 25, 2005

TO:
Honorable Todd Staples, Chair, Senate Committee on Transportation & Homeland Security

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB749 by Jones, Delwin (Relating to size and weight limitations for certain vehicles transporting agricultural products and equipment.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 622 of the Transportation Code to exempt from the weight limitations established in Section 621.101, Transportation Code, all vehicles used to transport chili peppers, seed cotton, or equipment used to transport or process chili peppers or seed cotton to the place of first processing.

Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Transportation, it is assumed the provisions of the bill would have no significant fiscal impact on revenue collections from permit fees.

The bill would be effective on September 1, 2005.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
