IN RE:	HB754 by Gattis (Relating to transportation of loose materials.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code as it relates to the transportation of loose materials.  The bill would change the fines for violations related to transporting loose materials and require commerical motor vehicles transporting loose materials to cover the load.  The load would have to be covered and firmly secured at the front and back or be completely enclosed by the load-carrying compartment.  The Department of Public Safety reports that officers would need to be trained on the new law, but that it can be accomplished within existing resources.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
