2007 ($25,000)
2008 ($25,000)
2009 ($25,000)
2010 ($25,000)

Fiscal Year Probable Savings/(Cost) from
GENERAL REVENUE FUND
1
2006 ($25,000)
2007 ($25,000)
2008 ($25,000)
2009 ($25,000)
2010 ($25,000)

Fiscal Analysis

The bill would amend Chapter 659 of the Government Code to entitle a district judge presiding over at least one multidistrict civil case in a fiscal year to a salary supplement from the state in the same amount that a local administrative judge receives under Section 659.0125 of the Government Code.  The annual salary supplement paid a local administrative judge is $5,000 per year from the General Revenue Fund.  The bill would not authorize the salary supplement to be used as a basis for computing other salaries that are based on the salary of a district judge.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.

Methodology

This estimate assumes that a total of 5 district judges in a fiscal year would be eligible for the new salary supplement. (5 x $5,000 = $25,000).

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
