LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 7, 2005

TO:
Honorable Joe Nixon, Chair, House Committee on Civil Practices

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB869 by Hochberg (Relating to common nuisances.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to modify the definition of a common nuisance.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. The severity of the offenses being added to the definition of “place of public nuisance” would in and of themselves identify a location as a place of public nuisance.
