FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 11, 2005

TO:
Honorable Jane Nelson, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB877 by Talton (Relating to certain complaints and information with respect to certain child-care facilities and family homes and to procedures for certain disciplinary actions against certain child-care facilities; providing a criminal penalty.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the executive commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission to remove information regarding anonymous complaints relating to child-care facilities or registered family homes that is subsequently found to be false or lacking in factual foundation from the Department of Family and Protective Service's website.  It is assumed that the agencies can accomplish this using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
