March 7, 2005

TO:
Honorable Suzanna Gratia Hupp, Chair, House Committee on Human Services

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB877 by Talton (Relating to certain complaints and records with respect to certain child-care facilities and family homes; providing a criminal penalty.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The Department of Family and Protective Services estimates that there would be a one-time cost of $38,500 in All Funds in computer programming time to modify systems in order to allow for the removal of data relating to complaints found to be false or lacking factual foundation in accordance with the provisions of the bill.  It is assumed that these modifications could be accomplished by the agency within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
