LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 2, 2005

TO:
Honorable David Swinford, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB908 by Turner (Relating to a pilot program on the use of the reverse auction procedure by the Texas Building and Procurement Commission.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would direct the Texas Building and Procurement Commission to purchase at least 30 percent of the dollar value of goods it purchases using reverse auctions. If the intent of the bill is to limit only the Texas Building and Procurement Commission’s purchase of goods using reverse auctions, there would be no significant fiscal impact.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
