No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure regarding when and where a marshal or a municipal police officer would be authorized to make a warrantless arrest outside the officer's jurisdiction. The bill would also require that when property is seized by an officer making an arrest outside of the officer's jurisdiction, that the law enforcement agency that has jurisdiction must take custody of that property. The bill would take effect Septmber 1, 2005.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
