LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 4, 2005

TO:
Honorable Dianne White Delisi, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB929 by Dutton (Relating to disciplinary action taken against a person required to file a death certificate.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to prohibit disciplinary action for failure to submit a death certificate in a timely manner in the event that a good faith effort was made and the failure is a result of circumstances beyond the control of the individual required to file the death certificate.  The Department of State Health Services indicates the bill would have no fiscal impact.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
