LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 27, 2005

TO:
Honorable Kenneth Armbrister, Chair, Senate Committee on Natural Resources

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB942 by Geren (Relating to the registration of antique boats with the Parks and Wildlife Department.), As Engrossed

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 31 of the Parks and Wildlife code to change the definition of an antique boat to any boat manufactured 35 or more years before the date of registration.  The current definition for an antique boat classifies any boat manufactured prior to 1968 as antique, which does not allow other future boats, as they age, to be considered for inclusion in the antique boat classification.  No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated because the bill would not require any additional resources or generate any additional revenue.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
