No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Article 39.14(a), Code of Criminal Procedure, which would require courts to permit the inspection of documents and other specified items in the possession of the State in a criminal case upon motion of the defendant. Current law allows, but does not require, courts to permit such inspection.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
