LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 21, 2005

TO:
Honorable Kent Grusendorf, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1004 by Hegar (Relating to a debt finance curriculum requirement in public high schools.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  It is assumed for this estimate that the bill as written would not require a separate course in debt finance education but rather would require a debt finance component within existing economics TEKS as a graduation requirement.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
