HB1118 by Eiland (Relating to operating a motor vehicle with a person riding in a boat or personal watercraft being drawn by the vehicle; creating an offense.), Committee Report 1st House, As Amended

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to make it an offense for a person to operate a motor vehicle on a roadway when another person occupies a boat or personal watercraft being drawn by the motor vehicle.  The Department of Public Safety reports officers would need to be trained on the new requirements of the law; however, this can be accomplished within existing resources. 

 

The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.
