IN RE: | HB1118 by Eiland (Relating to operating a motor vehicle with a person riding in a boat or personal watercraft being drawn by the vehicle; creating an offense.), Committee Report 1st House, As Amended |
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to make it an offense for a person to operate a motor vehicle on a roadway when another person occupies a boat or personal watercraft being drawn by the motor vehicle. The Department of Public Safety reports officers would need to be trained on the new requirements of the law; however, this can be accomplished within existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.
