HB1137 by Smith, Wayne (Relating to the authority of the Department of Public Safety to enter into agreements with foreign countries for issuance of driver's licenses.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code allowing the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to enter into agreements with foreign countries for the issuance of a Class A driver’s license.  

 

The bill would take effect immediately if a two-thirds majority vote in both houses of the Legislature is received. Otherwise, the bill would take effect on September 1, 2005.
