May 17, 2005

TO:
Honorable Jeff Wentworth, Chair, Senate Committee on Jurisprudence

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1186 by Hartnett (Relating to testamentary and nontestamentary transfers of property and other benefits and to jurisdiction of courts over certain probate matters.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would affect the jurisdiction of courts over certain probate matters and make other changes to the Probate Code.  The bill would result in statutory probate courts hearing more probate matters and district courts hearing fewer probate matters but not to a great extent.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
