IN RE:	HB1251 by Guillen (Relating to the creation of an offense of using a telephone while operating a bus.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to prohibit a person from using a telephone while operating a bus unless the bus is stopped or the driver is reporting an emergency and cannot safely stop the bus.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
