No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would authorize local law enforcement agencies to remove certain signs on a state highway right-of-way in the local agency's jurisdiction without giving prior notice to the owner of the sign. The agency would also be authorized to impose and collect a $25 removal fee from the owner of the sign, and to dispose of the sign after notice is sent to the owner if the owner does not claim the sign. The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.
