HB1348 by Eiland (Relating to political contributions and expenditures; providing civil and criminal penalties.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Election Code and provide additional definitions and restrictions concerning campaign expenditures and political contributions. In addition, the Texas Ethics Commission would be required to adopt rules to implement the provisions of the bill. It is assumed that any additional duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing state resources.

 

The bill would take effect on September 1, 2005.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
