LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 4, 2005

TO:
Honorable Dennis Bonnen, Chair, House Committee on Environmental Regulation

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1447 by Homer (Relating to permits for the commercial composting of grease trap waste.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would  require that composting permits require grease trap waste to be dewatered at an authorized processing facility before it is composted. The bill would require the agency to amend agency rules, policies, and procedures to add the dewatering requirement. Any increased workload is expected to be absorbed using current resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
