No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure relating to the return of a cash bond to certain criminal defendants.  The bill would require the refund of the full amount of the cash bond to the defendant if the defendant is found not guilty of the criminal offense with which the defendant is charged.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2005 and would apply only to a cash bond deposited on or after that date.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
