FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 17, 2005

TO:
Honorable Robert Talton, Chair, House Committee on Urban Affairs

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1473 by Wong (Relating to the composition of the pension board of certain municipalities.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would affect the municipal pension system in cities with a population of 1.5 million or more. Based on the 2000 federal census, the bill would affect only the City of Houston.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
