No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code making it an offense to use a portable computer, a portable television, a portable digital video disc player, or a portable videocassette player while in the front seat of a motor vehicle (operator or passenger). 

 

The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
