LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 17, 2005

TO:
Honorable Robert Puente, Chair, House Committee on Natural Resources

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1599 by Callegari (Relating to a conservation and reclamation district's use of money received under a contract with a municipality.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authorize a conservation and reclamation district that receives money from a municipality under the terms of a contract with the municipality, to use the money for any purpose of the district or the municipality unless otherwise restricted by the terms of the contract. The bill would apply to a contract entered into on or after the effective date of the bill.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated from having additional flexibility in the use of money the district receives from a municipality. The change in statute would allow the district to use money received through a contract for its purposes without having to use other revenue sources.
