No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill amends Section 192.003, Health and Safety Code, to specify that a parent may request, based upon religious beliefs, to delay the filing of a birth certificate until the child is named. The bill would require the birth certificate to be filed not later than fifteen days after the child's birth.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
