LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 2, 2005

TO:
Honorable Ray Allen, Chair, House Committee on County Affairs

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1628 by Brown, Betty (Relating to the authority of certain counties to enact noise regulations; providing a criminal penalty.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authorize certain counties to enact noise regulations and would establish that a violation of those regulations would be a Class C misdemeanor. Based on the two most recent federal decennial censuses, the parameters of the bill would apply only to Kaufman County.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
