The bill would establish the Interagency Coordinating Council for Healthy Families to facilitate communication and collaboration regarding policies for the prevention of and early intervention in child abuse and neglect.  It would require (a) an inventory of policies, programs, and activities of each agency represented on the council by June 1, 2006 and (b) a report with recommendations by December 1, 2006.  The statute would expire on September 1, 2007.  It is assumed that each of the ten agencies represented on the council can perform these duties within current resources.
