HB1685 by Dukes (Relating to the establishment of an interagency coordinating council for the prevention of child abuse and neglect.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

This bill would create the interagency coordinating council for building health families to facilitate communication and collaboration regarding the prevention of child abuse and neglect.  The Texas Education Agency would be among the state agencies represented on the council.  The bill would require presentation to state leadership of an inventory of child abuse and neglect prevention policies, programs, and activities of each of the agencies on the council by June 1, 2006.  The bill would also require a report to state leadership including the council’s recommendations for improving coordination and collaboration and a recommendation regarding continuation of the council by December 1, 2006.
 
The bill would take effect immediately upon enactment with the necessary voting majorities or September 1, 2005.  The provisions would expire on September 1, 2007.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
