LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 5, 2005

TO:
Honorable Dianne White Delisi, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1752 by Davis, John (Relating to the inspection and cleaning of certain bedding, materials, and upholstered items.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 345, Health and Safety Code, relating to the inspection and cleaning of certain bedding, materials, and upholstered items, by replacing all references to "germicidal treatment" with the term "inspection and cleaning." Permits would be issued to "inspect and clean" instead of to "apply germicidal treatment."

The Department of State Health Services indicates that there would be no fiscal impact from the bill because the fees for inspection and cleaning would be the same as the fees for germicidal treatment.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
