No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to allow the inspector general of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to issue administrative subpoenas for certain communication records that disclose information material to criminal investigations involving inmates. The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.
