IN RE:
HB1830 by Wong (Relating to the notice provided for the establishment of municipal management districts.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code relating to requirements for a person to notify the public of intent to apply for the passage of a law that would establish a municipal management district. The bill would also require the county commissioners court in the county where the district is proposed to hold a public hearing regarding creation of the district. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives the required two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2005.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated from costs incurred in conducting a public hearing.
