IN RE:
HB1921 by Allen, Ray (Relating to the civil commitment of sexually violent predators.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code Section 841.002 to add the definition of "sexually motivated conduct" and to amend the definition of "sexually violent offense". The bill would also broaden the circumstances under which the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) would be required to inform the multidisciplinary team established under Health and Safety Code Section 841.022 of certain discharge or release dates. The bill would take effect September 1, 2005. Because TDCJ and DSHS would be able to perform the requirements of the bill within their existing resources, no significant fiscal impact to the State is anticipated.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
