IN RE: | HB1959 by McReynolds (Relating to the hunting of deer with dogs and the taking of wildlife resources without the consent of the landowner; providing penalties. ), As Passed 2nd House |
The bill would amend Chapters 12 and 62 of the Parks and Wildlife Code relating to the hunting of deer with dogs and the taking of wildlife resources without the consent of the landowner. The bill would provide an enforcement tool to deter the unlawful hunting of deer with dogs in certain East Texas counties where the activity has historically occurred, including a Class A Parks and Wildlife misdemeanor punishable by suspension or revocation of hunting and fishing licenses and permits for first time violations. To the extent the bill would require the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission to adopt rules for the bill’s implementation, no significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.
