HB1967 by Corte (Relating to the employment of physicians by certain countywide hospital districts.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authorize the board of a hospital district in a county with a population of at least 190,000 to hire doctors. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2005.

Under current statute, an applicable district board may hire technicians, nurses, and other employees the board considers advisable for the district's efficient operation.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
