HB2120 by Allen, Ray (Relating to the administration of county government and the exercise of powers at the county level. ), Conference Committee Report

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, the Government Code, the Health and Safety Code, the Local Government Code, and the Tax Code, to make a number of operational, administrative, or permissive changes applicable to counties.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.


Local Government Impact

While some counties could experience additional costs or savings as a result of various sections of the bill, it is anticipated that the impact would be minimal and controllable by those counties that elect to avail themselves of the new provisions. The fiscal impact would vary by county.
